E' stato sorteggiato il nuovo calendario di Premier League in Inghilterra, dove il prossimo campionato comincerà l'8 agosto.

Il big match della prima giornata è senza dubbio la sfida dell'Old Trafford tra Manchester United e Tottenham che daranno via così al campionato. Il Chelsea campione in carica invece affronterà lo Swansea, mentre Arsenal e Liverpool affronteranno rispettivamente West Ham in casa e Stoke City in trasferta. Il Manchester City sarà impegnato in casa del West Bromwich mentre l'Everton attenderà il Watford. Nella seconda giornata ci sarà la grande sfida tra Manchester City e Chelsea prevista per il 15 agosto mentre alla terza ci sarà Arsenal-Liverpool.

Il derby di Manchester è previsto il 24 ottobre mentre quello di Londra tra Chelsea e Arsenal il 19 settembre.

Swansea e Aston Villa seguono Andros Townsend. Secondo il Daily Mirror sono al momento queste due le squadre interessate al 23enne attaccante esterno legato al Tottenham fino a giugno del 2017.

Sembra ormai fatto il trasferimento di David Ospina al Fenerbahce. Secondo il Times il 26enne portiere colombiano attualmente di proprietà dell'Arsenal (che in queste ore ha chiuso per Petr Cech) andrà in Turchia per una cifra vicina ai 4 milioni di sterline.

Come da tradizione, negli anni dispari degli ultimi 10 anni, va in scena a Luglio la Barclays Asia Trophy, torneo che mette di fronte 3 squadre della Premier League e una del paese ospitante. Quest’anno le squadre prescelte sono Arsenal, Everton e Stoke City a cui si aggiunge l’11 migliore del paese ospitante che è Singapore.
Il torneo è l’unico riconosciuto dalla Football Association al di fuori del suolo inglese e viene organizzato per promuovere il campionato inglese nei paesi asiatici dove è comunque uno dei più seguiti. La competizione si svolge negli anni dispari per evitare concomitanze con Coppa del Mondo o tornei continentali. Quest’anno la manifestazione si terrà dal 15 al 18 Luglio. Campione in carica è il Manchester City che l'anno scorso si è imposto in finale contro il Sunderland con un gol di Edin Dzeko.
